Graduate, Associate of Science in Psychology Check out the recent Q&A interview with Parisa >> We sat down for a Q&A with Ghafoor to learn more about her, her time at Ivy Tech Indianapolis, her journey, aspirations, and more! ________________________________________________________________________ Born and raised in Afghanistan, a land marked by daily struggles and hardships, Parisa learned the essence of resilience early in life. However, the true test of her resilience came with the sudden loss of her father, thrusting her into the role of breadwinner overnight. Despite the weight of this responsibility, she discovered an inner strength amidst the grief, learning invaluable lessons about perseverance and determination. In a country where educational opportunities for girls are scarce, she refused to let societal limitations dictate her future. Leaving behind her homeland, she embarked on a journey in search of hope and opportunity. Along the way, she encountered discrimination and adversity, but her resolve remained unshaken. Thrilled to be graduating with an associate degree in psychology, this marks just the beginning of Parisa’s journey in a field she is truly passionate about. She’s decided to further her education by pursuing a bachelor's degree at Indiana University, where she looks forward to delving deeper into the study of psychology and expanding her knowledge. Parisa’s lifelong goal is to become a great psychologist, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Through empathy, understanding, and evidence-based practices, she aims to help individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve emotional well-being. Grateful for the opportunities ahead, she is eager to embark on this next chapter of her academic and professional journey. With dedication, perseverance, and a genuine passion for psychology, she is confident in achieving my dreams and positively contributing to the field.
