How It Works

A physician (associated with a clinic or a hospital) prescribes an out-of-lab blood draw to a patient, and sends it to a PhlebX partner laboratory via EMR.

A blood draw requisition with the patient’s location and contact information is generated. Our GPS-enabled platform locates & dispatches the nearest phlebotomist.

The phlebotomist connects with the patient to schedule a visit. The specimen is collected in a warm, relaxed manner, at home or the patient’s location of choice.

Equipped with a portable printer and the PhlebX mobile app, the phlebotomist labels each specimen with a unique barcode that is customized to your LIS, then drops off the package at a lab collection point.

Results are auto-sent to the physician via the lab or PhlebX. The entire process is digitized for a paperless workflow, with minimal human errors and maximum traceability and transparency.

PhlebX is an independent service provider specializing in at-home phlebotomy and specimen collection services. We enable Diagnostic Laboratories to cater to the special needs of large patient populations, like home-bound, bed-bound, chronic and geriatric patients, as well as Tele-medicine and Concierge-service customers.

PhlebX operates a proprietary, HIPAA compliant, cloud-based technology platform that integrates with the Laboratory Information System (LIS), for a seamless fully-digital process of order transmission, job dispatching and service fulfillment cycle.

Our phlebotomists are equipped with a dedicated smart-phone, running our proprietary Mobile App, and with a Portable printer for bar-code label printing, customized to the laboratory’s IT system. The entire service fulfillment process is fully-digital / paperless, and is continuously monitored for quality-of-service compliance.

Each phlebotomist also uses a centrifuge device for optimal blood specimen handling conditions.

PhlebX services include Blood draws, Covid swabbing and other specimens collection. Service lead-times need to be indicated by the physician in its order prescription:

• STAT orders – same day home visit.
• Standard orders – performed within 1-3 days, according to patient’s preference.
• Standing orders – repeat / scheduled home visits, according to patient’s preference.
• Onsite testing – pre-scheduled, coordinated with authorized customer’s contact person.
